primary requirements
This role requires an experienced Retail Logistics operator who is able to lead a diverse operation together with a mix of internal customer and third party relationships. In addition, you will have the following skills/experience;
- A ‘think out of the box’ mentality to find innovative approaches
- Strong understanding of Logistics and technical requirements of running a Warehouse and Transportation operation
- Logistics Operations experience including the management of a P&L is essential
- Experience of working within a 3PL and Head Office environment is preferred
- Strong leadership principals, providing direction and guidance to the 3PL senior management team
- Organised approach to multiple challenges
- Analytical approach to a comprehensive set of data
- Ability to reflect, look forward and alter approach to deliver long term requirements
primary duties
Reporting directly into the Logistics Director, the Head of Retail Logistics has an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on this exciting organisation. The primary objective is the ownership of the Retail Logistics Operations and Development. In addition, the following are a snapshot of the key responsibilities;
- Delivery of key tactical projects to improve cost efficiencies within the operation
- Identification of key issues and trends that require examination, understanding and ultimately resolution
- Understanding of longer term strategic requirementÂ’s and ability to mobilise as required to progress strategies
- Ability to adapt the structure and organisation in own team and 3PL team to achieve objectives
other duties
The tasks comprise planning and integrating logistical strategies and constantly looking for ways to improve performance. This will include understanding market fluctuations and business objectives, setting targets and reporting to directors in regards to key performance indicators.
