primary requirements
Key Skills:
- A strong background leading a fast paced complex supply chain operation, with a strong understanding of capacity, supply planning, logistics. Experience of the food or drinks industry is essential.
- A confident communication style with excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong IT, forecasting and general supply chain system experience
- A commercial awareness, able to demonstrate monitoring trends and reviewing the strategy to ensure positive decisions for the business
- Excellent negotiating and influencing skills, capable of building close relationships internally and externally.
- CPC National/International and a good understanding of WTD issues, tachograph legislation.
- Experience of working with Unions and associated processes and practices would be an advantage.
- Strong project management skills, ability to plan, identify and source the required resources and deliver within agreed timescales.

primary duties
The Role:
- To effectively manage and control the supply chain process for finished goods from forecasting through manufacturing to primary and retail distribution, ensuring that all opportunities for improving the efficiency of the manufacturing process, profitability and service are continually improved.
- To deliver outstanding distribution and technical service to our customers across the business with management responsibility for 8 direct reports covering, distribution, warehousing, technical services, logistics and customer sales/care.

Responsibilities:
- Accurately forecasting requirements and ensuring that production planning processed can meet the demand within acceptable parameters.
- Liaising closely with the production teams.
- Ensuring the load planning team have appropriate skills and resources to ensure distribution of finished goods in a timely and cost effective manner/ensuring tight controls are in place to minimise stock management issues including lost/damaged stocks, thefts and missed loads.
- Identifying potential new opportunities internally and externally e.g. investment opportunities which will reduce overall costs in the medium and long term, new business opportunities.
- Shaping the ways of working within the depot structures to enhance operational efficiency: double shifting, better utilisation of fleet, addressing stock control issues.
- Liaising with Trade Union – wage negotiations, procedural agreements.
- Involvement with Projects.
- Fleet Administration.
- Tech Services, best utilisation of equipment and staff.
- Produce and analyse weekly and period data. Reporting as appropriate.
- Provide direction and clearly communicate operational targets to teams, measuring performance against pre - determined targets. Identify training and development opportunities to increase skills and improve efficiency.
- Take all necessary steps to encourage the development of close relationships and mutual co-operation between different business areas to ensure revenue opportunities are maximised.

You will be tasked with managing a team of 8 and reporting to the Managing Director. You will be responsible for the Supply Chain function for the business and driving continuous improvement through the operation.
