primary requirements
Successful candidates for depot managerial positions will have a proven ability to run large, complex and fast-moving operations smoothly and profitably. As manager, you might be expected to deal with any issues that arise with customers without taking them to the regional or head office level, so good problem-solving and diplomacy skills will be essential. You will need to be able to control a budget and keep firm control over the depot’s accounts to ensure efficient and profitable running of your arm of the company’s logistics operation. You will also need to be able to motivate and reward staff under your control.
primary duties
The Depot Manager will report into the regional head and will have responsibility for a fast paced and time sensitive distribution operation. Based in Kent, some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Management responsibility for Team Leaders.
- To ensure all Depot vehicles are maintained in accordance with Company policy and statutory and legal requirements.
- To ensure all internal and external customer service targets are met on time and to the required targets.
- Site Manager for the Depot, including security, facilities, hygiene, health and safety responsibilities, and administration of sales processes, including sales order processing and inter company documentation.

- To deliver excellence in customer services and support to Business Development activities
- The post holder will interact closely with the Distribution Teams on a daily basis.
- The post holder will liaise with inter company suppliers to ensure availability of product and external service providers to ensure the efficient maintenance of the fleet.
- There will also be a close working relationship with the Area Business Development Team.

Holding full responsibility for all warehousing and transport activities on a multi-customer site, you will be responsible for ensuring that all customers are serviced in accordance with all SLAÂ’s whilst ensuring a highly profitable, cost effective operation.
